Registration for summer camps at JP is still open.  It follows a structure of 2 sessions, each – 5 weeks long. Summer camps engage students in interactive activities designed to reinforce state standards for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) education. Students will be immersed in a variety of topics that help them to create, design, build, move and learn! Daily schedules involve many fun outdoor activities to learn team sports and summer water fun. Detailed pricing and schedules below.

Session I: 5 weeks

Week 1: Foundations of friendships : Belonging begins with me

This week introduces campers to the foundations of social connection. Through intentional greetings, shared spaces, and
collaborative play, students begin to understand where friendships are formed and how relationships grow. Emphasis is
placed on recognizing one’s own uniqueness while appreciating others, fostering a sense of belonging within the community.

Week 2: Understanding our feelings : The language of emotions

This week invites students to explore a range of emotions and how to use the language to identify and express how they feel.
Through guided discussion, storytelling, and shared experiences, campers learn that all feelings are valid and that emotions
can be recognized, named, and understood in themselves and others-an essential step toward empathy and emotional
awareness.

Week 3: Caring for one another : Kindness in action

This week centers on practicing care within a community. Campers learn what it means to include others, share resources,
express concern, take responsibility for their actions, and work together toward shared goals. Through daily interactions and
collaborative experiences, stuents begin to understand that caring behaviors strengthen relationships and help a community
thrive.

Week 4: Ways we communicate: Listening, speaking and connecting

This week explores the many ways people share ideas, feelings, and information. Students learn that communication happens
through words, actions, gestures, written messages, and technology – and that listening is just as important as speaking.
Emphasis is placed on respectful expression, attentive listening, and understanding how communication helps us connect
with others and strengthen relationships.

Week 5: Alligators to elephants: Every animal is special

This week invites campers to explore animals through the alphabet while discovering that every animal has unique
characteristics and abilities. By examining how each animal moves, lives, and survives, children begin to understand that
differences are valuable and meaningful. The theme reinforces early literacy while gently connecting the concept of animal
diversity to respect for individual uniqueness.

Session II: 5 weeks

Week 6: Foxes to Jellyfish: many ways to be unique

This week highlights animals with very different strengths, sizes and ways of moving. Campers explore how each animal is
special in its own way, reinforcing the idea that differences are valuable and help the world work together.

Week 7: Llamas to snakes: celebrating differences in nature.

This week focus on animal diversity across habitats and behaviors. Students observe how animals live and protect themselves
differently, building appreciation for variety, adaptability and cooperation in the natural world.

Week 8: Tigers to zebras: every animal has a purpose

This week explores animals known for their strength, survival skills, and social behaviors. Campers learn that each animal
plays an important role and contributes something meaningful mirroring how every individual matters within a community.

Week 9: Artistic Expressions of Italy: discover art and design

This week introduces children to Italian art and architecture through hands-on creative exploration. Students express
individuality through self-portraiture, experiment with printmaking techniques, explore the tradition of fresco murals, and
observe architectural forms. The focus is on process, observation, and appreciation of art as a meaningful form of
communication across cultures and time.

Week 10: Impressions of France: water and landscape art

This week introduces campers to French art through the study of landscapes, weather, and artistic technique. Inspired by
Monet’s Haystacks series and the method of pointillism, children observe how artists represent light, color, and mood.
Through hands-on exploration, students learn that art can capture changing moments in nature and express personal
perception.

Week 11: Modern Shape art studio: pattern and form design

Modern art invites campers to explore creativity beyond realism, focusing on shape, line, and form as tools for expression.
Students are encouraged to experiment freely, make intentional choices, and discover that art does not need to be certain way
to be meaningful. Through hands-on exploration, campers learn that modern art values imagination, individuality, and the
creative process.
